2011.11.30 (Review of 2008.04.24 edition)
Here's a tried-and-true staple from the field of time management!
DELEGATE (v.) 委任する
- To delegate is to give someone a task, job, or power to make decisions, instead of doing it yourself.
- delegate は、自分でやらないで、誰かに作業、仕事、または決定権を与える、つまり、委任する、という意味です。
- You have to learn how to delegate work, Jack. You can't expect to do everything yourself.
- My workload would be unmanageable if I didn't delegate routine tasks to my staff and interns.
- Ms. Swanson is ill, so I've been delegated to attend the conference on her behalf.
- (Scarlet is Vice President of Marketing)
While Scarlet is away, her responsibilities will be delegated to Thomas, who will be Acting Vice President of Marketing until she returns.
Have a fine day!
