Hello! This is the WordMaster. I've called to invite you to join us for a terrific set of brand new @Work editions. Our theme this week is “Business Calls!” Stay on the line for all the fun!
NOT AT HIS DESK / AWAY FROM HER DESK 席をはずして
- When someone can't take a phone call because they are out of the office or are somewhere else in the office, you can say that he/she is not at his desk or is away from her desk.
- 外出やオフィス内の別の場所にいるために、誰かが電話に出られないときは、he/she is not at his/her desk または he/she is away from his/her desk と言うことができます。
- (a call to Ms. Billings' office)
a: May I speak to Ms. Billings, please?
b: I'm sorry, but she's not at her desk at the moment. Can I take a message? - Feel free to call me on my cell phone if I'm away from my desk.
- a: Were you able to contact Robert?
b: No. He was away from his desk.
Thanks for taking our call!
