Explanation

  • Labor is the period of time during which a baby is pushed out from its mother's body. In other words, from the time that the pains begin to the time the baby is born.
  • labor は、赤ん坊が母親の体内から押し出される過程、つまり、陣痛が始まってから赤ん坊が産まれるまでのことで、陣痛、分娩、という意味です。

    b: Not yet. Nancy's still in labor.
  2. I was in labor for 15 hours with my first baby.
  3. Junko went into labor in the middle of the night.
  4. When a woman is having a difficult labor, she's sometimes given medication to lessen the pain.
  5. (on the phone to the hospital)
    MAN: My wife's labor pains have begun.
