Explanation

  • A sign is a warning, directions, instructions, or other information displayed in a public place on a piece of paper, wooden board, flat piece of metal, etc.

    A street sign, road sign, or traffic sign is a sign placed next to or above a road that gives directions, a warning, or similar information to motorists, cyclists, or pedestrians.

    Some common street signs in the United States include:

    STOP
    YIELD
    ONE WAY
    DO NOT ENTER
    DEAD END
    SPEED LIMIT (35)
    NO PARKING
    RAILROAD CROSSING
