We're awfully glad you came today, and we're going to do our best to make sure you benefit from your visit. Every once in a while, we like to design a week or two around current events. The topic we'll be focusing on this time has been in the news for months now and affects every one of us more or less directly. We're talking about the subprime crisis and its influence on the global economy. Consider this week a “Subprime Primer!”

  • A mortgage is money that someone borrows in order to buy real estate (= a house, building, part of a building, or land).
