REFUSE / REJECT 拒否する/拒絶する
- To refuse or reject a request, suggestion, proposal, offer, etc. is to say no to it.
- refuse や reject は、要望や助言、提案、申し出などに反対する、という意味です。
- Well, the supplier refused our request. I knew they would never agree to such a large discount.
- a: I thought you weren't going to accept the job.
b: So did I, but they made me an offer I couldn't refuse. - Their parliament voted to reject the proposed ban on textile imports.
- After the bank rejected Mike's loan application, he tried raising the funds by approaching several venture capital firms.
