Hello!
Today we'd like to introduce you to the enemy of freedom of expression - the big, bad Mr. C!
CENSOR 検閲する
- To censor is to examine a book, movie, etc. in order to remove parts that are considered dangerous or improper.
The noun form is censorship. - censor とは、本や映画などの中身を調べて、危険である、または不適切であると思われる箇所を削除する、という意味です。
名詞形は censorship で、検閲、という意味です。
- I didn't realize how heavily censored the employee newsletter was until I submitted an article, which they rejected because it was too critical of management.
- (notice at an Internet forum)
The administrator will censor out words and language considered to be inappropriate. - With all the red tape involved in setting up a business, the lack of transparency among government agencies, and the degree of government censorship there, the business climate is extremely unfavorable at the moment.
- With the change in government there, censorship of music, art, and literature has become much less heavy-handed.
And that's just one more example of the WordMaster telling it like it is!
