  • An election campaign (noun) is a series of activities before an election, done in order to get votes.

    To campaign (verb) is to participate in activities of this kind.
  • election campaign は、票を得るために選挙前に行われる活動、つまり、選挙運動のことです。

    動詞の campaign は、このような選挙運動を行う、という意味です。



  1. The election campaign is finally over and the results are in.
  2. It can take a lot of money to run a political campaign.
  3. My sister got a job working in a campaign van for a man who wants to be on the City Council.
  4. (during a political election in Japan)
    People are campaigning all around Tokyo, and there always seems to be one or two of them giving speeches outside Shibuya Station.
