- To board an airplane, a train, a ship, etc. is to get on or to let people on.
A boarding pass is a card or piece of paper (separate from your ticket) that allows you to board a plane or ship. It shows information such as your name, departure time, gate number, seat number, etc. - board とは、飛行機や列車、船などに乗る、または、人を乗せる、という意味です。
boarding pass は、飛行機や船に乗るために必要な(チケットとは別の)カードや紙片、つまり搭乗券のことです。この紙には、乗客の氏名や出発時刻、搭乗口の番号、座席番号などが書かれています。
