QUALITY vs. VALUE   質、良質 vs. 価値

Explanation

  • The quality of something - for example, a product,
    a school, or someone's work - is how good it is compared to others like it.

    Quality can also mean “excellence”.

    The value of something is how much it is worth.

    Value can also mean “the worth of something compared to its cost”. For example, if something is “good value” or “a good value”, it's worth its price.
  • quality とは、あるもの ―例えば、商品、学校、人の仕事など― が、ほかの同様なものに比べてどのぐらいよいか、つまり、質のことです。

    quality は、良質、という意味で使うこともできます。

    value とは、あるものに、どれくらいの価値があるか、つまり、価値のことです。

    value は、何かを価格と対照させた場合の価値を意味することもあります。例えば、 something is good value. または something is a good value. などと言うと、価格に見合う価値がある、という意味になります。
