  • If something jumps out at you, you notice it right away or it catches your attention.
  • something jumps out at you と言うと、あるものの存在にすぐに気づく、または、何かが(人の)注意を引く、という意味です。



  1. a: Here's the graphic we'll be using for the ad.
    b: Wow! This is terrific! It really jumps out at you, doesn't it?
  2. (at the headquarters of a large restaurant chain in Tokyo)
    a: You'll have to redo these menus. I found five English spelling mistakes.
    b: Do you really think customers will notice?
