2007.03.12(Review of 2004.12.15 edition)
Greetings!
This week we're going to describe a process: an opportunity is recognized, a plan is made, and that plan is then carried out to the end. Sounds simple, doesn't it? But it's the rare - and successful - person who can do it all consistently.
So that's our plan for the week. Stay with us through Friday and see if we can pull it off!
BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY ビジネスチャンス
- A business opportunity is a chance that is available to a person or organization to make money by beginning a new business activity.
Be Careful! We usually do NOT use the expression “business chance” (ビジネスチャンス) to mean business opportunity. - business opportunity は、人や企業が、新しい事業を始めることによって利益を上げる機会のことです。
注意:日本語では business opportunity のことを「ビジネスチャンス」と言いますが、英語では一般に business chance という表現は使いません。
- Here's an excellent business opportunity that you may want to consider. One of the fastest-growing ice cream parlors in the country has decided to begin selling a limited number of franchise licenses.
- I know it won't be easy to enter the Asian market, but the business opportunities there are too great to pass up.
- Hank is taking a big chance by leaving his job at the firm. I sure hope the new business opportunity he's pursuing goes well for him.
- The Internet has greatly increased the number of business opportunities available to people with limited investment capital.
May the expression “business chance” never pass your lips again!
