Greetings!
Golden Week is just around the corner, and the holidays have inspired us this week to talk about time and its extraordinary value. Enjoy!
HAVE TIME (~する)時間がある
- To have time is to have a period available in which to do something.
- have time とは、何かをするために使える時間がある、という意味です。
- Do you have time to play catch later, Dad?
- a: Are you going away during Golden Week?
b: No, the office has never been busier. I don't have time to go on vacation. - (a busy working mother)
Who has time to cook from scratch these days? - a: When do you think you'll be able to look over the report?
b: I have some time now if you'd like. - I only have a little time before I have to pick up the kids from school.
- (an American student near the end of a term abroad)
I don't have much time left here, so I don't want to waste a minute.
Until tomorrow!
