Greetings, and congratulations to everyone who celebrated their coming of age yesterday! The future is yours, and we're counting on you to make it a better and brighter one for all of us!

Although you don't have to be 20 to do it, getting your driver's license is a coming of age of sorts. That's why we're devoting the next three days to the automobile. So, once again, fasten your seatbelts and take a ride with the WordMaster!

Today's Lesson

The back seat is the seat behind the driver's seat and front seat.
  • driver's seat とは、乗用車などの乗り物で運転者が座る席のことです。

You can move the driver's seat back if you need more leg room.
  2. I used to let my dog ride in the passenger seat until they passed a law against it.
  3. (a child to his little sister)
I want to sit in the front seat this time! You always get to sit there!
  4. (a taxi driver to a group of four customers)
There's only room enough for three in the back seat, so one of you will have to get in the front.
