Explanation

  • A slogan, product name, tune, etc. is catchy if it is easy to remember and appeals to many people.
  • catchy とは、標語、商品名、メロディーなどが覚えやすくて多くの人の興味を引く、という意味です。

examples

  1. The best slogans are so catchy that we remember them even many years later. They often become part of the popular culture.
  2. We need to come up with a catchy tune to use in our new TV advertisement - something hip and exciting that people will be singing in the streets.
  3. Can't we come up with a catchier name for our new CD player than “CD Player 54GKZ”?
