Here's what this week has been all about!

Today's Lesson
(WINTER/SUMMER) SOLSTICE

Explanation

  • The winter solstice (in Japan and other areas north of the equator) is the time of the year (around December 21st) when the sun is furthest SOUTH of the equator. It is the shortest day of the year.

The summer solstice (north of the equator) is the time of the year (around June 21st) when the sun is furthest NORTH of the equator. It is the longest day of the year.
