2006.11.22(Review of 2003.04.11 edition)
Wednesday greetings to you!
Would you enjoy having the freedom to pick and choose the work you do? If so, then here's a popular working arrangement that you may want to consider!
FREELANCE(R)
フリーランスの、自由契約の(フリーランサー、自由契約者)
- To freelance or “work freelance” is to work for a number of different organizations, sometimes at the same time, and be paid for a finished product or for hours worked rather than a monthly salary.
A freelancer is someone who works freelance.
Be Careful! We do NOT use the word “free” like the Japanese フリー to mean freelancer.
- I've been freelancing for five years now. Sometimes I miss getting a regular salary every month, but not enough to go back to working for just one company.
- If you decide to work freelance, you'll have less security but a lot more freedom.
- Maybe you should wait until you have a little more experience before you go freelance (= start working freelance).
- Terry's a successful freelance photographer.
- He worked for a computer software company for ten years before becoming a freelancer.
Have a great holiday tomorrow!
