Negotiations can become a series of proposals and offers bouncing back and forth like a tennis ball between the parties involved. Today's WordMaster@Work is kind of like a return volley after a serve!
COUNTER OFFER 対案
- A counter offer is a new proposal for price or other conditions, made in response to an unacceptable offer.
- counter offer は、受け入れられない申し出に対して行う、値段や条件に関する新たな提案のことです。
- I'm not at all satisfied with the 5% discount Zap Electronics has offered us. Make a counter offer for a discount of 15%, but you can settle for 10% if that's as high as they'll go.
- They couldn't agree to the price we quoted in our proposal, but they said they would have a counter offer for us by early next week.
- Good news! Blue Chip Inc. has accepted our counter offer!
