学校のある日/学校がある日の前夜

Explanation

  • A school day is any day on which you go to school or on which most students go to school.

    It is also the part of the day during which you are in school.

    Any night BEFORE a school day is called a school night.
  • school day とは、自分が学校に行く日、あるいはほとんどの学生が学校に行く日という意味です。

    一日のうちで、学校にいる時間という意味でも使われます。

    学校がある日の前の晩のことを school night と言います。

  1. BOY: Can I rent a video tonight?
    FATHER: Of course not! Tomorrow's a school day. You can get one on the weekend.
  2. The #57 bus only runs on school days, from early morning to late afternoon.
  3. (a school rule)
    Students must wear their uniforms at all times during the school day, except during physical education class.
  4. The School Board is discussing whether to increase the length of the school day from 6 to 7 hours.
  5. Every night from Sunday to Thursday is a school night in Japan, except during vacations and holidays.
  6. I don't usually let my children go out on school nights. By the time they finish all their homework, they're usually ready for bed anyway.
