Explanation

  • A clown is a person at a circus or other event who wears funny clothes and makeup - especially a big red nose - and makes people laugh by doing silly things.

    Be Careful! In English, the word “pierrot” is NOT used like the Japanese ピエロ to mean clown.
  • clown は、サーカスなどの催しにおかしな衣装と化粧(大きな赤い鼻が特徴です)で登場し、おかしなことをして観客を笑わせる人です。

    注意:clown の意味で、日本語の「ピエロ」のように pierrot という単語を使うことはありません。
