2005.07.25
Welcome to an exciting week of Berlitz WordMaster! We celebrate the summer this week, and if there were ever a time of year to be out among people, this is it! It's a season to be taking in the circus or one of the many festivals around town, traveling, listening to music and dancing - in other words, living! So here's a great set of words to help you talk about all the memories you'll be making in the coming weeks!
(LIVE) CONCERT 音楽会、コンサート
- A concert is a performance of music for a group of people.
A live concert has not been recorded, but is actually being performed as you hear it or watch it.
Be Careful! We don't call a concert or live concert a “live”, like the Japanese ライブ.
- I've got two tickets to the Johnny Wow concert. Would you like to come?
- I went to my first classical concert last Saturday. Oh, what a beautiful sound!
- (radio announcer)
We'll be broadcasting a live jazz concert from the Hathaway Auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Please join us.
Take care!
