Explanation

  • A postal code is a sequence of numbers (and sometimes letters) used by post offices to identify a particular delivery area. Such systems were developed to speed up the sorting of mail.

    United States postal codes are called zip codes
  • postal code とは、郵便局が使用している配送先地域を示す番号（文字が使われることもあります）のことです。このようなシステムは郵便の仕分け作業を速くするために作られました。

    zip code とは、アメリカで使われている郵便番号のことです。
