Home “sweet” home! (Remember, we said this week's THEME would have nothing to do with Valentine's Day. We made no promises about the greetings!)
HOME PAGE ホームページ
- A home page is
the “front page” or “top page” of a Web site.
For example, the Berlitz International home page is the first Web page you see at www.berlitz.com.
Be careful! The Japanese ホームページ is often used to talk about a whole Web site. Home page, however, is only used to talk about the first Web page you usually see when you access a Web site. - home page は、ウェブサイトの表紙、つまりウェブサイトの最初のウェブページのことです。例えば、ベルリッツ･インターナショナルの home page と言ったら、www.berlitz.com のウエブサイト内にある最初のページのことをさします。
注意：日本語で言う「ホームページ」は、ウェブサイト全体の意味で使われることが多いですが、英語の home page は、ウェブサイトにアクセスした時に、普通表示される最初の１ページのみをさします。
- Anyone can access our home page, but you need a password to look at the other Web pages in the site.
- Our company's home page is very simple. It just says “Welcome!”, and there's an icon to click for more information.
