Explanation

  • To work out is to do physical exercise to get or stay in shape.

    A workout is a period of physical exercise, or a series of exercises, that you do to get or stay in shape.

    Be careful! We pronounce the verb work out with the main stress on the word “out”, but in the noun workout the main stress is on “work” .
  • work out は、体のコンディションを良くする、または維持するために運動する、という意味です。

    そのような運動をする時間、または、運動そのもののことを workout と言います。

    注意:動詞の work out は、out を強く発音します。名詞の workout は、work を強く発音します。
