HOME>Word Master®>ON (TELEVISION/VIDEO/THE RADIO) vs. IN (A MOVIE/THE NEWSPAPER/A MAGAZINE) メディアに使われる前置詞

Hello! We've one more WordMaster for you to make the week complete. Enjoy it!

We use either "on" or "in" before the media type in which a program, article, actor, etc. appears.

We use "on" for "on television", "on video", and "on the radio".
We use "in" for "in a movie", "in the newspaper", and "in a magazine".

番組、記事、俳優などについて言うとき、それを扱うメディアによって前置詞がonとinに分かれます。

onを使って、"on television"、"on video"、"on the radio"と言います。
inを使って、"in a movie"、"in the newspaper"、"in a magazine"と言います。

1. a:Why don't you read the newspaper?
b:Because I watch the news on TV or hear it on the radio.

2. I wish they would play more classical music on the radio

3. Did you see the article in the newspaper about the big fire in Shinjuku?
Thanks for another fun week!
