GRADUATE 卒業する

HOME>Word Master®>GRADUATE 卒業する

Thanks for joining us on this third day of our Spring Special.

One of the things that makes early spring such an exciting time of year in Japan is that, for many people, it is when the old life ends and a new one begins. This is the theme of today's WordMaster.

To graduate from a school is to complete courses and other necessary work and receive a degree.

(Be careful: You graduate FROM a school. We do NOT say, "graduate a school".)

graduateは、学校で所定のコースや必要な勉強を終えて、その証書をもらうこと、つまり卒業するという意味です。

注意: You graduate FROM a school.(学校を卒業する)とは言いますが、graduate a schoolとは言いません。

1. My sister hasn't lived at home since she graduated from high school.

2. I heard that in Japan it's hard to get into a good college but easy to graduate.
Be good!
