FUN vs. INTERESTING    楽しい vs. 興味深い



Something is interesting when it makes us look or listen carefully or when we want to learn more about it; for example, a TV documentary or a museum.

Something is fun when it makes us smile or laugh or happy inside; for example, meeting friends, playing games, or skiing.

興味をひきつけられたり、もっと知りたいと思うような事柄についてinterestingと言います。例えば、ドキュメンタリー番組、博物館、などです。

笑ったり、楽しくなったりするような事柄についてfunと言います。例えば、友達と会うこと、ゲーム、スキー、などです。


1. My math class is difficult but very interesting.

2. I met a very interesting man last night. He was a volunteer in Africa for seven years.

3. The party was really fun. We danced until 2 a.m.

4. We had a lot of fun yesterday! We sang karaoke and played computer games.
